Oytö (avant-garde; noise sludge, active 2015-2017, Riga, Latvia) in its essence is a laboratory of noises, in which the experiments are performed not only with sound but with text as well. Oytö’s main aim is to make each concert as a relieving experience, kind of a ritual, considering that such gatherings have almost disappeared at all in our days. With massive rhythms, chaotic melodies and screaming the band seeks to deny the claim that meditation is only something silent and calm. And to oppose this idea Oytö define their sound as “hardcore meditation”.
